The singer/song-writer, Paddy Mac brought six capable musicians together for rehearsals in his Rockland County studio. What came out of it was a lively sextet capable of pumping out original and innovative tunes. The Hudson Valley based band arranged 8 of Paddy Mac’s tracks in about 3 months to produce the debut album Magic at the Rock.
Rule Number One features the instrumentation of Acoustic rhythm guitar, Lead Electric Guitar, Keyboards, Electric Bass, Drums, Violin and French horn. Most of the member’s collective experience and influences originate from the jam band and classic rock scene. Therefore, this band thrives best in live settings. The membership likes to take risks, both in the studio and on stage, so you can expect a wild unexpected ride.
Rule Number One’s first studio recording was captured live in continuous single takes, over a two day session. Magic at the Rock was recorded at a studio in Warwick, NY owned by sound engineer Raven Tesar. Through his leadership, the recording has managed to capture the energy and spontaneity that the band is known for.
What has come out of this effort is a powerful, and interesting list of songs, filled with original sounds and interwoven melodies. If you’re looking for something new and innovative, book Rule Number One today!
